Fallout 3 new-gen remaster unites fans

It's what the game deserves

Fallout 3 fans are united in calling for Bethesda to remaster this beloved post-apocalyptic RPG and we agree.

Fallout 3 was released in 2008 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and was Bethesda’s first major release in the series that evolved into a fully 3D open-world giving players an incredible sense of adventure.

Check out the Fallout 3 trailer below!

“Vault-Tec engineers have worked around the clock on an interactive reproduction of Wasteland life for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own vault. Included is an expansive world, unique combat, shockingly realistic visuals, tons of player choice, and an incredible cast of dynamic characters,” reads the synopsis of Fallout 3.

However, as pointed out by the YouTuber ‘The FPS Sense’, unlike Bethesda’s teacher's pet, otherwise known as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3 has never received a single remaster, at least officially.

Skyrim on the other hand has been ported to every console generation since it was first released in 2011.

We know that Skyrim is likely Bethesda’s most popular game but Fallout has a devoted fan base too and following the success of the Amazon Prime live-action series, surely there’s no better time than now to remaster Fallout 3, right?

The YouTuber in question says all there needs to be said in the short video called “Why Fallout 3 Deserves a Remaster More Than Ever”. Simply put, a remaster would make the game look better with improved textures, lighting, shadow effects, performance and more.

“You’d think they would be all for the cash grab,” said Redditor panopticon96 declaring surprise that Bethesda is yet to remaster Fallout 3.

“I really tried to get back into it after playing Fallout 4 recently, and I'm embarrassed to say that I couldn't do it. It just feels too outdated,” said newtreen0.

“If they did a full remaster or remake like Silent Hill 2, I would pay full price,” declared Caspur42.

“They already kinda remastered it on Xbox. It has better graphics on Xbox Series X,” replied TheSyrupCompany, referring to Fallout 3 being backwards compatible.

There were also a lot of Reddit users saying that the game doesn't need a remaster but it’s personal preference at the end of the day. As one of my favourite games of all time, I’d love to see Fallout 3 get the remaster it deserves.
