The Game Awards has grown far beyond simply giving a few deserving developers their flowers, with many games choosing to use the event to debut their upcoming releases or new trailers, updating fans on exactly what's to come.
2025 is looking like it won't be an exception, with a ton of rumours circulating about what we might get to see this time around and what secrets Uncle Geoff might have under his shiny suit sleeves.
As first reported by ComicBook.com, developer Archetype Entertainment has confirmed that sci-fi space opera Exodus will be at The Game Awards this year, with a brand new trailer giving fans a much better look at what they can expect from the game.
Exodus is One of the Most Ambitious Sci-Fi Games Ever

Billed by many as a potential rival to the Mass Effect series, Exodus has a lot going for it, and this latest video at The Game Awards could really get the hype started ahead of its eventual release in 2026.

Exodus is based on the sci-fi TTRPG of the same name, which itself blends classic space opera elements with tactical gameplay and emotive storylines that make it one of the standouts in the tabletop genre.
News surrounding the game itself is still relatively thin on the ground, but that hasn't stopped it becoming one of the most highly anticipated genre entries of this generation.
The really exciting feature is the inclusion of time dilation, which is a scientific concept that says the faster someone is going the slower time moves to them.
This means that while someone may go on an intergalactic voyage for eight months at near the speed of light, for those who are remaining essentially stationary, years may have passed in the same amount of relative time.

This concept is included in the game, brining huge weight to every decision you have to make.
The player is set to serve as humanity's last hope in a battle against an existential threat known as the Celestials (Reapers anyone?).
Set 40,000 years in the future, it's science fiction in its purest form, with unique worlds to explore in our search for fragments that will hopefully allow us to beat back the enemy.
Fans will be hoping the new Game Awards trailer will include a full release date for the game, which is still locked in to a broader release window of 2026.
