Mass Effect spiritual successor arrives in AAA sci-fi RPG Exodus

Better than waiting until Mass Effect 5

A spiritual successor to Mass Effect is on the way for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

While Mass Effect is an undisputed king of the sci-fi shooter genre, fans have got a long wait ahead before they can play the next game in the series.

If you haven’t played them you can grab the whole remastered trilogy with Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, which you can see below

It’s speculated that those who want to play Mass Effect 5 will have to buy a completely new console, beyond the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

If you don’t want to wait that long though, you might be in luck as there’s another sci-fi shooter on the way and it’s starting to look like a spiritual successor. It’s even got Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey on board.

The game is called Exodus, and you can catch all of the details on its official website, which is regularly updated with new developments to the game.

Unfortunately, a release date hasn’t been provided as of yet, or even a release window for that matter though many have predicted it’ll launch either next year or sometime in 2026.

For updates on the game’s development and even some bonus freebies for when the game eventually comes out, you can sign-up to be a Founder, which offers additional freebies if you invite people you know to do the same.

From the look of things, it’s very Mass Effect-esque, though that doesn’t mean it’s not interesting, nor does it mean you shouldn’t keep it on your radar for the time being.

Who knows, maybe it’ll even release before Mass Effect 5 does, as it’s said Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the main priority for BioWare before work fully moves over to the next sci-fi title.
