Mass Effect Meets Halo in Stunning Sci-Fi Shooter

Two sc-fi worlds collide

Mass Effect And Halo are two sci-fi series that need not introduction, though over the past few years they’ve fallen off a bit…

Mass Effect has a new game on the way and it’s going to need to do some seriously heavy lifting as Mass Effect: Andromeda was a colossal disappointment. To help it along though a live-action TV series in the works, so that’s something nice to look forward to.

Don’t even get me started on Halo, as while it’s been through worse the series feels like it’s lacking soul right now, though I am hopeful for the new game announcement coming later this month.

Before we get there though there is a game coming that seemingly blends the best of both these worlds to create something really special.

Exodus is a game that Mass Effect fans have been watching with great interest as its clearly inspired by the BioWare series.

The game can be found on Steam and its description reads: “EXODUS™ is a sci-fi action-adventure RPG where you become the Traveler—leading humanity’s fight for survival against the Celestials. Face our evolution 40,000 years in the future, explore extraordinary worlds, and confront time itself to shape the fate of generations.”

Taking a look at the gameplay the similarities between Mass Effect are clear to see but it feels like more than a cheap knock-off, at least for now.

Of course we’ll need to play the full game to see how it compares but if the latest Mass Effect games haven’t been doing it for you perhaps this is one worth waiting for instead.

At the time of writing no release date has been shared for the game, which is the main concern for those interested in it as the game was announced quite some time ago, yet there’s been no update on its launch.

It’s worth keeping an eye on though, so if you have Steam add it to your wishlist as there’s surely some stuff to be said about it as we close off 2025 and move into 2026.

Mass Effect and Halo are two game series that deserve a lot of love, as they’ve both had a huge impact on the way sci-fi shooters are designed, which is why it’s such a shame to see them resemble shells of their former self.
