The Elder Scrolls fans roast surprise new trailer

Fans are less than happy

It has been well over a decade since The Elder Scrolls Online was first released and gave Elder Scrolls fans the chance to dive into the fantasy world in a MMORPG setting.

However, with many other MMORPGs to contend with, The Elder Scrolls Online has not always stood out amongst the pack.

Not only that but with The Elder Scrolls fans only interested in receiving news about The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda’s latest announcement has gone down like a lead balloon.

It is true that Bethesda released an Elder Scrolls-related trailer last week but instead of finally giving fans a glimpse at TES VI, it was instead to celebrate an upcoming DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online.

The Elder Scrolls Online - Seasons of the Worm Cult is a “brand-new saga and a true sequel to ESO’s base game questline” and it is available on Steam and Epic Store.

“In this new adventure and story, you will continue the narrative from ESO’s original main questline as you investigate the resurgence of the infamous Worm Cult,” the website description reads.

“Together with new and returning allies, you must venture into the isle of Solstice, discover the cult’s plans, and uncover the secrets of the mysterious Writhing Wall that divides it.”

However, as you can imagine, this is not what The Elder Scrolls’ fans wanted to hear and they took to r/elderscrollsonline and r/TESVI to share their frustrations.

“Y’all really thought it was gonna happen this year?” One user asked, referring to The Elder Scrolls VI being released.

Another user replied, “I was 100% sure we weren't going to get anything about TES VI and knew everyone would come here to complain about it lol.”

However, it was another user that was feeling a bit more realistic about the whole thing.

“Will people finally stop downvoting every post that says this game won't be coming out in 2026 now?” They asked.

“Real life isn't the world of TES. We don't have magic. AAA games take longer than 3 years to develop.

TESVI has only been in full production development since 2023. Anyone with even a modicum of knowledge of how this industry works knew this game wasn't coming before 2027.”

Regardless of when The Elder Scrolls VI is released, it seems as though The Elder Scrolls fans are still feeling disappointed so Bethesda will have a lot of work to do in the upcoming years.
