The Elder Scrolls VI can wait because we have this promising new fantasy RPG to look forward to, which might just be the next big thing.
When we say “The Elder Scrolls VI can wait”, it’s not like we have any choice in that matter. I mean, Bethesda announced this game well over seven years ago at E3 2018, and we’ve still not had a proper trailer, let alone a release date.
Ever since that rendered E3 2018 trailer that simply had a birdseye view of Tamriel and The Elder Scrolls VI logo, we’ve pretty much had nothing since, other than a few rumours here and there. Bethesda announced this game so long ago that E3 doesn't even exist!

It’s anyone’s guess as to when the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series will grace us with its presence. At this point, it might be safe to assume that it will be a next-gen title.
So, what can we do in the meantime? Thankfully, there are plenty of fantasy RPGs to keep us busy, such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3, to name a few.
One other RPG that might be worth your attention is an upcoming title developed by Push On and published by HypeTrain Digital. The game in question is called Alkahest.
“Alkahest is an action-adventure RPG set in a murky medieval world. Where satisfying melee combat with highly interactive environments takes centre stage. Explore realistic locations, learn alchemy and make a name for your family,” reads the synopsis of the game.

Judging by its trailer, Alkahest does look like it has a lot of potential, and it gives me The Lord of the Rings vibes, which is always a good thing for me.
“This is what I’m looking for when they say first-person action, let’s go! Full immersion fighting! Wish listed and I’m waiting patiently,” wrote CHILLCREWGAMING in the comments section on YouTube.
“This game is at the top of my list out of all other upcoming games. It looks incredible!” declared onwithsean.

Of course, it can be easy to be fooled by a trailer, so hopefully, Alkahest will get a playable demo sooner rather than later.
Alkahest does not have a release date at the time of writing, but you can wishlist it on Steam to be notified when that announcement is made. It will be released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
