Elden Ring fans getting surprise release before Shadow Of The Erdtree drops

We need this!

The launch for arguably the biggest expansion to be released in recent years is nearly upon us with Shadow of the Erdtree for Elden Ring.

When FromSoftware released Elden Ring in 2022, it became one of the best games from the Japanese developer and that’s saying something considering it’s gifted us the likes of Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon and much more. Shadow of the Erdtree also promises to be the biggest expansion yet by FromSoftware.

Check out the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree trailer below!

In our review of Elden Ring, we said, “Elden Ring is a constantly surprising adventure that has taken FromSoftware’s tried-and-tested formula to delirious new heights. One of the best video games of the last decade."

At launch, devoted Elden Ring fans can already get their mitts on the awesome ‘Shadow of the Erdtree Collector’s Edition’, but if you’re after something more, then The Overture of the Shadow of the Erdtree packed with artwork and lore might pique your interest. However, you may struggle to get hold of this gorgeous book anytime soon.

As reported by Siliconera (via PR Times), The Overture of the Shadow of the Erdtree is only listed to be sold in Japan via Amazon and the Famitsu and Dengeki Strategy Guide website. It has an RRP of 2,750 yen which works out to be around £14/$17.70 with 80 pages, it will also come with a snazzy B2-sized fabric poster included in the book and is set to be released on 17 June 2024.

Hopefully, The Overture of the Shadow of the Erdtree will be available in other regions soon, if not, you can usually import from the Japanese Amazon website if need be.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on 21 June 2024 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
