Elden Ring can be an incredibly frustrating game. In my hundred or so hours exploring The Lands Between, I've been drowned, crushed, eaten, burned, impaled, electrocuted, and even yeeted to my doom.

Death can come at a moment's notice, and sometimes it genuinely isn't fair. If you know what to expect from a typical FromSoftware video game, then you'll know that Elden Ring is hardly unique in this regard. It is a game that actively delights in screwing with the player

Take a look at some of the funniest wins and fails in Elden Ring below to see what I'm talking about!

It's certainly understandable, then, that Elden Ring would occasionally make us want to throw down our controllers in anger and walk away from the game for a little bit. I know I certainly have done! But one player may have taken the rage quit just a little too far, choosing to literally tear their PlayStation 5 controller in half out of frustration.

Reddit user Weebfromkonoha uploaded a picture of their mangled DualSense in front of the Elden Ring title screen, along with the caption: "I think I'm done for tonight".

It's unclear which particular boss fight or area might have elicited such a visceral reaction, but it's very obvious that the DualSense controller is out of the game for good.

Unsurprisingly, there aren't many people expressing sympathy or support for Weebfromkonoha in the comments. There's no shame in getting angry at a game, but getting so furious that you smash a controller to pieces? That's a problem.

"I don't get how people get this angry playing video games," wrote one user. "When I get frustrated, the most I'll do is curse at the screen, but even that is something that I do only very rarely."

"Introspection is needed, this is maidenless behavior," another wisely observed.
