'Elden Ring' Player Somehow Beats Game Only Using Their Butt

Legendary speedrunner Distortion2 has completed a new Elden Ring challenge, and has finished the game in two hours just using his butt.

Do you ever think that challenge runs might have gone a bit too far? Basically since its release, the Elden Ring player base has seemingly been determined to complete the game in the most difficult ways they can, and no, I’m not just talking about beating it without summons. Speedrunners have been going absolutely wild with FromSoftware’s latest - cutting a 50+ hour game down to just 50 minutes seemed really impressive last month, but now, people are managing to do it in under seven minutes, and I don’t even know what to say about that anymore.

But no, this goes even further beyond, somehow. As reported by DualShockers, the legendary Elden Ring speedrunner Distortion2 (who currently holds that aforementioned sub-seven minute Any% world record) has managed to complete the game using only his butt.

If you're craving more Elden Ring chaos, take a look at the video below to see Thomas the Tank Engine modded into the game as a ridiculously powerful boss.

Well, not his personal posterior, but rather the rear of his Tarnished. He starts the game off with the Ash of War Ground Slam - a melee attack in which the player launches themselves into the air, and comes crashing straight down onto their victims below. While he eventually upgrades to even more powerful butt-slam attacks, the goal is unchanging - all must face the wrath of the rump, and nothing else.

If you’re sat there thinking that doesn’t sound very impressive, think again. The animations for these attacks are frustratingly long, leaving you open for getting hit when you’re doing it, and because you can’t dodge partway though, you have to be patient and wait for openings to deal as much damage as possible. Oh, also, he completed the whole thing in just over two hours. I guess speedrunning habits die hard.

As far as Elden Ring weirdness goes, though, that’s far from the strangest challenge we’ve seen lately. Another player managed to finish the game using a dance mat as the controller, which I can’t even begin to comprehend the logistics of. It’s one way of staying fit while still grinding away at the bosses, I suppose.
