Elden Ring players have been fighting the Mimic Tear boss incorrectly this entire time, you can beat it with a single item.

As far as FromSoftware games go, Elden Ring is up there as one of the greats, closely followed by Bloodborne which still hasn’t received an official PC port or remaster yet.

The next adventure in the lands between is Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree, check it out below.

Something that sets Elden Ring apart from other FromSoftware games are its incredible bosses, with one of the best being the Mimic Tear, a boss that copies your equipment and moveset for one of the toughest battles in the game.

You can make this fight easier by equipping all of your gear before entering the arena, as this means the Mimic Tear will spawn with no weapons, but it turns out there’s an even easier way of killing the boss.

Reddit user bugzapperbob recently shared a video of them starting the Mimic Tear fight, before throwing a single lightning pot at it before it can fully take shape as your character.

This instantly kills the boss, meaning you don’t have to fight it at all if you don't really want to.

Other players were shocked by how easy the player made it look, with many wondering why the boss died so quickly against such a random throwable item.

It turns out while the Mimic Tear is still in its blob-like form, it’s significantly weak to lighting damage, so players will have a split second to K.O the Tear before it becomes more of a problem.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Elden Ring secrets, so if you’re preparing for Shadow Of The Erdtree, keep an eye out for any others that’ll help you on your journey to become the Elden Lord.
