Dead Space fans don’t hold your breath for a new game, as it seems EA is more comfortable with selling Isaac Clarke cosmetic bundles for a higher cost than the 2023 remake.

The 2023 remake of Dead Space remains as one of best survival horror games of this past generation, and it’s gutting for fans that a sequel was never commissioned.

Still, there’s always hope that the series could return in some shape or form. The horror genre is thriving right now, after all.

However, this new release from Electronic Arts seems to show that it’s more comfortable with selling off expensive Dead Space bundles than doing anything else with the franchise.

It appears that Dead Space’s Isaac Clarke has now joined Skate as a cosmetic skin, being sold off as part of a Dead Space bundle. And it’s actually more expensive than the 2023 remake.

The bundle, which costs 3,350 San Van Bucks, works out to around $30. While it retails for $69.99, Dead Space is regularly discounted for as low as $5 during sales periods.

In fact, right now on the PlayStation Store it’s available for $13.99 during the Player’s Choice sale. And physical copies can go for around that much too.

So, yeah, pretty cheap. And that makes the price of this bundle even more puzzling.

The full Isaac Clarke bundle is available for about two weeks, and it includes the following items:

  • Engineer Rig Skin
  • Slasher Deck
  • Isaac’s Trunks
  • Isaac’s Wheels
  • Leaper Sticker
  • The Marker Sticker
  • Stomp Sticker
  • Plasma Cutter Sticker
  • Necro Stomp Emote
  • Isaac Clarke Avatar

Skate is the fourth game in the series of the same name, and is EA’s soft reboot of the franchise after a 15-year absence. It was released into early access on 16th September across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

At the moment, EA hasn’t confirmed when the game will leaving early access. The publisher posted on the game’s Steam page:

“We don’t have a fixed timeline to officially exit Early Access, as the game will evolve, grow, and improve based on player feedback. However, we expect to move towards a ‘full’ release approximately a year out from the start of Early Access but we don’t know for certain at this time.”

So, it sounds like the game is going to remain in early access for a little while longer while EA continues to improve it.
