One of the Dead by Daylight developers dared to call Palworld “boring,” and is now being hounded by angry fans.

Ever since its release, Palworld has taken the internet by storm. Not only has it passed 19 million players on Steam shortly after its launch, it’s also said to be putting the Pokémon franchise to shame. Fans have been disappointed with the quality of the last few games in the series and believe Palworld is an example of what a next-gen Pokémon game could look like.

Despite its ongoing success, it has been slated by one of the Dead by Daylight developers, Nathan Sellyn. Apparently Sellyn has put several hours into the game so far and doesn’t care for it, citing a lack of empathy for your Pals and copious amounts of bugs and glitches as the main reasons it isn’t his cup of tea.

Normally you’re free to express your opinion on a game, especially if you’ve actually put a few hours in to give it a go, but of course this is the internet, and Palworld fans haven’t taken the criticism lying down.

One player said, “Devs are so jealous of Palworld's success, if it is as bad as he is saying then why do people continue to play, breaking sales and concurrent players records daily?” Another got personal, saying, “You know what is also extremely buggy? Dead by Daylight lmao.”

Then one player criticised Sellyn’s point about the game being simple, saying, “This is coming from a person who worked on a game that has one of the simplest gameplay loops ever.”

All criticisms aside, it clearly hasn’t stolen Palworld’s thunder, as the game’s popularity increases daily and there’s plenty more content in the form of post-launch updates on the way to keep sales going. We should also add: please be kind.
