Feeling starved of Souls content? Never fear, for this amazing mod for Dark Souls 3 reinvigorates the game with a whole new story and five unique worlds. We are spoiled some days, I tell you that.

But even I, a person who cannot stand being challenged, am tempted by the beauty and terror of this mod.

Dark Souls: Archthrones is the product of a dedicated and talented group of developers who love Dark Souls 3. With two years of work under their belts, the team offers players an alternate story that is set across five new worlds accessed at the Nexus of Embers. As a "reimagination" of Lothric and other recognisable locations, Archthrones has been met with a raucous receptions from fellow fans and it's completely understandable when you settle in for this latest gameplay showcase. That might be my gaming sensibilities speaking, however the mod looks like it has adhered to the Souls essence of the game while refreshing it with new challenges to take on against a gorgeous backdrop. Can I hear a little commotion for the War-Torn Village? That lighting is so striking. "This is like when you dream and can't quite tell where you are, but nonetheless it feels very familiar.
