A brand new RPG out today is sure to entice Cyberpunk 2077 players looking for a new game to sink their cybernetic teeth into.

Cyberpunk as a genre has had a bit of a resurgence in the last decade, thanks to the popularity of games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Katana Zero, as well as new movie releases in the Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell franchises.

It’s clear this genre renaissance is having a profound effect on artists and creatives across all of media, as we’re now seeing more titles exploring cyberpunk themes cropping up each year.

Now, a new game released today on both PC and consoles is sure to win over the hearts of Cyberpunk 2077 fans and anyone else who enjoys the genre.

Cyberpunk modded to look like Borderlands is dramatic!

Neon Blood from ChaoticBrain Studios is an indie game that takes inspiration from old RPGs and adventure games. Combining 2D and 3D art, it looks like a perfect successor to other cyberpunk works.

Set in the aftermath of a war in the year 2053, you play as detective Axel McCoin who becomes embroiled in the corruption and power that holds Viridis City.

During the game, you’ll be free to explore the various districts of Viridis to collect information, secrets and other intel that will help Axel get to the bottom of the conspiracy.

In addition to that, Axel will also have to defend himself if he crosses the wrong people during his investigation. It’s here the game transforms into turn-based combat where you have access to a variety of moves and skills to fend off attackers.

Neon Blood looks like the perfect game to play if you’ve just wrapped up a Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough and need something else like it.

Being a lower-budget title, it may not be an exact replica with the same gameplay. But its themes and story certainly will scratch the same itch, and those graphics are looking downright gorgeous.

Neon Blood is out now on PC, Xbox, PS4 / PS5, and Nintendo Switch, and currently available at a 10% launch discount.
