Cyberpunk 2077 player discovers 'secret' Easter egg that completely changes Night City

How did we miss this?

Just when you think you have discovered all that Night City has to offer, another player stumbles across a hidden Easter egg which turns the glistening metropolis into a shadow of itself.

Despite Cyberpunk 2077 celebrating its five-year anniversary later this year, CD Projekt RED has repeatedly assured fans that they have not found all of the secrets the RPG has to offer.

Check out the next-gen update launch trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 below!

As a result, players are still trawling the streets of Night City to find hidden locations, Easter eggs and secrets - and this latest discovery is guaranteed to blow your mind.

Shared to r/cyberpunkgame by user mojofahy, the post reads as follows: “When you think you've done and seen everything hundreds of hours in and you find that developers left this little Easter egg.”

Featured alongside the post was a video of where you can find the mysterious discovery.

Located on the side of the road in Westbrook, players can stumble across a red button on the side of a yellow box.

The button is accompanied by various phrases including: "Turn out the lights, the party's over", "Baby when the lights go out", and "Press me after dark!"

So what happens if you press this red button?

It will suddenly turn off all the lights in Night City (at night of course) and according to a fellow Reddit user, after driving for some miles, they discovered that the shutdown really does affect the entire metropolis.

Of course, this doesn’t really affect anything when it comes to gameplay and if this is in reference to something, fans are yet to work it out.

Nevertheless, it is just more proof that Cyberpunk 2077 is still home to all manner of secrets waiting to be discovered.

“Bro, I have over 1000 hours and I saw this yesterday. What have I done all this time!?” one user commented.

Another said: “That’s actually so cool. I feel like games don’t really have these random meaningless Easter eggs any more, so that’s really cool to see.”
