The story and life of Cyberpunk 2077 is such a muddled one after the messy launch the game suffered.

Due to the developers working long and hard on improving the experience and realising their vision, it feels like we could have got so much more in the lifecycle of Cyberpunk 2077.

We only got one expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 in the end, but it was a banger.

The game has since become a darling for many, with countless updates bringing it to a level of brilliance many never thought we’d see.

Of course, we were lucky to get the huge DLC campaign Phantom Liberty, but according to leaks, there was a second expansion in the works.

The now lost expansion was to be titled ‘The Moon’ and was leaked on 4Chan after a data breach of CD Projekt RED back in 2021.

Having learned of the potential for another DLC adventure, fans are lamenting what could have been over on Reddit.

“Considering the absolute insane quality of Phantom Liberty, the DLC we did get, and how that also had an ending that referenced the moon, this makes me very sad,” comments Urabutbl.

The Moon would have added a brand-new location to the game, taking players into space.

There were design documents, pieces of concept art, and blueprints for the expansion, however it was soon abandoned.

“I'm going to guess they just ran out of time, they wanted to allot to the project. They spent way more time fixing the original release than they wanted to,” said one Redditor.

We may get some of this content in the upcoming sequel, codenamed Orion, as this Redditor seems to think: “I'm sorry, we were going to get a moon DLC? That's a sick concept, hopefully we can see it realised in Orion.”

“Man… I want to go to the moon,” comments Winter_Mine2271 sadly. You and me both, bud.
