It looks like Cyberpunk 2077 might have a new sci-fi rival in town because this new Xbox reveal looks absolutely gorgeous.
Despite its very rocky launch, it’s probably fair to say that CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best sci-fi RPGs of the modern era, perhaps even of all time.
In Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED has crafted a compelling story that encourages player choice in terms of gameplay approach and narrative, it has deep customisation, and its location of Night City is as stunning as it is deadly. It may have taken a while to get to the level of quality it is now, but as they say, better late than never.
During last night’s Xbox Partner Preview, a plethora of games were revealed from AAA delights and indie darlings galore. All in all, it was a decent presentation with a lot of gaming goodness to look forward to.
However, perhaps one game stood out more than most, and that’s the robotic detective game, Artificial Detective, developed and published by VIVIX Inc. By the looks of things, this will be the first game for the studio, and it looks like it could be a banger.

“A third-person action-adventure where a robot detective uncovers the mystery behind humanity’s disappearance. From the talent behind Love, Death & Robots, DreamWorks, and Crytek,” reads the description of the game. So, even though it's a new studio, it’s certainly got some experienced talent on the team.
“Awaken as AD 2846, a robot detective with fractured memories, in a decopunk metropolis maintained by mad robots. Together with DAWG, your loyal military robodog, and Mowgli, a human girl raised by machines, fight and hack your way through a city where crazy robots took over to uncover why humanity vanished.”
The trailer, which looks to have a blend of cinematics and gameplay, looks very big budget, and absolutely has that Hollywood vibe with its animations, acting and audio. That being said, only time will tell if the game is as good as it looks.
From what we see in the snippets of gameplay, it looks like the player will be given a choice of action or stealth. If stealth is chosen, your robot dog can take down enemies, perhaps similar to the sidekick character, Nix, in Star Wars Outlaws.
At the time of writing, Artificial Detective does not have a concrete release date, other than a tentative 2027 launch window for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
