If I were a game developer, I’m not sure if I’d name the locale of my game Vuntra City, it sounds a bit rude - a bit iffy.

That’s what Aevicca Software went with, though, and they’re leaning into it with their free-to-play environmental exploration ‘game’ on Steam.

Vuntra City can be explored now, on Steam

Vuntra City Environment Demo is exactly what it sounds like; it’s a chance to explore and interact with Vuntra City, with all its lush neon lighting, and glossy surfaces.

It’s clear that this tech demo wears its inspirations on the sleeve, as ignoring the Cyberpunk 2077 vibes is difficult.

Although, the CD Projekt Red title is more gritty and gloomy in places, while this feels overly shiny and brand-new.

You can see from the accompanying trailer and screenshots that Vuntra City is built to impress.

The demo places you within a vast cityscape measuring 20kmx20km, created procedurally based on a custom seed, ensuring that no two cities ever feel the same.

It’s all fully interactive, too, with players able to sit anywhere, ride every elevator, and pick up props and items throughout.

It’s giving The Sims, without all the hassles of making sure you get to the toilet in time, or attend a job.

With this being simply a demo, it might have you wondering what’s in store for the full game.

Well, Aevica Software go into details on their Steam page, noting several features to come, including, “NPCs with schedules and a reactive dialog system, Space ownership and customization mechanics, and More transport options, including manually controlled vehicles.”

It definitely seems as if the developer is going for a modern and futuristic sandbox for us to explore, and there will be more interactivity to come.

For now, you can explore and roam, testing the environment, and seeking out little details that will eventually build a full game.

Vuntra still sounds a bit smutty, though.
