Cyberpunk 2077 is hiding a reference that makes me feel very, very old, and that a lot of players likely missed (due it being buried towards the end of a long chain of side jobs).
I think it’s probably fair to say that Cyberpunk 2077’s release was… what’s the most impartial way to put this… an absolute trainwreck that has permanently scarred the legacy of CD Projekt RED?
Yeah, that’ll do. The younger among you might not be entirely familiar with the lead up to the game’s release, but people were going absolutely nutso for Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2019.
Expectations were at an all time high. People were foaming at the mouth to get their hands on the game. Then, in a crescendo of hype, things got out of hand at E3 2019 when Keanu Reeves stepped on stage to show off some Cyberpunk 2077 footage.

Side note; watching Gamescom this year has really made me miss E3. That’s not really relevant to the story, just makes me sad thinking about how exciting E3 used to be every year, and how bloody boring Gamescom was this year.
Anyway, even if you didn’t watch E3 2019, you’re likely familiar with one thing that spawned from the Cyberpunk 2077 presentation. I am, of course, referring to “You’re breathtaking!”
At the time, it was a cute little moment. These days, it’s kind of been over-referenced to the point that it’s almost cringe remembering it.
Speaking of, Cyberpunk 2077 contains two different references to it!

The first one is relatively well-known. Collecting all of Johnny’s clothes throughout the course of a playthrough will net you the “Breathtaking” achievement.
The second one is far more easy to miss though, as it features in the sixth side job mission given to you by Kerry Eurodyne.
As spotted by one user over on the r/cyberpunkgame subreddit, if you keep an eye on Kerry during the mission Off the Leash, you can hear him shout “You’re breathtaking!” in response to a heckle he receives from a member of the crowd.
But wait, if this reference was in the game at release, and the game came out a year after the E3 presentation… man, CD Projekt RED must have had the voice actor record that line at the last minute.

Oh no, I started thinking about E3 again and I got sad.
