Cyberpunk 2077 fans united over 'perfect' setting for sequel

Alright, they actually cooked with this one

Fans think they’ve discovered exactly where the next Cyberpunk 2077 game should be set, and it’s so perfect that I’m going to be mad if CD Projekt RED doesn’t follow through with this.

In the Cyberpunk lore, we have a lot of extended details about what kind of state several countries are in by the turn of the 2070s.

Obviously we know the most about Cyberpunk 2077’s setting, The New United States and the Free State of California’s Night City, but what other locations would be fun to visit for a potential sequel?

Also, would the sequel be called Cyberpunk 2078 or Cyberpunk 2077 2? Much to think about.

Anyway, fans over on the r/cyberpunkgame subreddit think they’ve discovered the perfect location for the game’s sequel… and given the lore implications, I think they’ve absolutely cooked.

The Witcher 4 is next for CDPR.

“Is it just me that would love to have a fully exploreable Tokyo and maybe parts of the surrounding Kanto region in the next Cyberpunk game? I think it particularly would be interesting to see what effect Arasaka has had in Japan,” writes user feeo99.

“I’ve been thinking about this a long time and think about how much Tokyo is mentioned in the first game and how much NC is influenced by Japanese culture and architecture with Japantown.”

“Tokyo could be very interesting, though to clarify, we do have a fairly detailed look at what the mega-metropolis has become in the Dark Future from the original TTRPG books (More specifically, the Pacific Rim sourcebook),” replied user Corgi_SBS.

“They're much less likely to be openly prowling the streets or causing mayhem like in Night City, but find yourself in the wrong alley or the target of a hit, and you might find yourself standing toe-to-toe with a ganger dressed in full anime cosplay.”

Getting beat up by a bunch of dudes cosplaying as their favourite waifus sounds like my idea of a good time, honestly.

Here’s hoping CD Projekt RED at least gives us a glimpse of somewhere outside of America for the sequel, because I am more than excited about seeing what happened to the rest of the world now I’ve heard all of this.
