It’s always a cool little touch to see video games give nods to other forms of media in their titles and that was definitely the case in Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt Red was dedicated to showing its appreciation for fellow media that inspired Cyberpunk 2077 with cameos ranging from Mortal Kombat to Sailor Moon and even a surprise appearance from Hideo Kojima himself.

However, it was its very own franchises that saw the most Easter eggs and fans were quick to jump on the nods to fellow CDPR title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

There is no denying that other than Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 is one of its most beloved games so it is no wonder that the two collided.

However, there is one Easter egg that quietly confirmed The Witcher 3’s canonical ending.

Featured in Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion, players may have discovered information surrounding the fate of Yennefer of Vengerberg herself.

Found on a well-hidden Datashard during the final main job “The Killing Moon” in Songbird’s story path, there is some sad news.

The Datashard, titled “The Last Wish” reads: “Ever since we professed our love to each other - up at the very top with a view of the whole world - I knew right then and there that nothing could separate us except death.

If you’re reading this letter, it means that time has finally come.

My final wish is that you take my ashes to the moon and scatter them from the highest peak as you gaze at the stars and think of me.

Y.”

It is perhaps no surprise that Yennefer is in fact dead considering that the game takes place in 2077 but it is still a bittersweet moment, especially as we see her everlasting love for Geralt.

Although the Datashard itself doesn’t use any names, fans of The Witcher series will understand the reference.

Let us hope Geralt did somehow get her to the moon.
