'Crysis 4' Is In Development, Crytek Confirms

Oh lawd, it’s happening. Crytek have officially confirmed that a new instalment of the Crysis series is on the way.

While the teaser isn’t giving much of anything away, both in regards to what we can expect the game to be about, or any indication as to when it’s coming out, no doubt people are already going nuts over this. Check it out below...

We can see a very brief glimpse of a CryNet Nanosuit helmet, which fans will recognise as the helmet worn by the protagonists of the previous games. It also appears that the game could be taking place in some kind of post-apocalyptic setting, which we have seen before in Crysis 3, but right now it’s still all rather mysterious.

“To everyone in our amazing Crysis community, and to all fans of the franchise all around the world: we have a special announcement to make, just for you. It’s something you have been asking us for a long time, so it’s now finally time to confirm – yes, the next Crysis game is happening!” Crytek CEO Avni Yerli wrote. “We are so pleased and excited to bring this news to you, and we really can’t wait to reveal more details about what lies ahead.”

The game is still in the early stages of development, so it’s certainly going to be a good while yet before we see it make its way into the world and onto our screens, but it’s no doubt something to be very excited for. The hype is real.
