It certainly feels like The Infinity Saga is well and truly over within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sure, we still have heroes like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange hanging around, and Thor will soon return to our screens - but Phase Four is now led by a flurry of new characters including Kate Bishop, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel.
Time sure does fly. Avengers: Endgame was released three years ago and to this day, fans are clamouring to know if Chris Evans would ever return to the franchise as Captain America. Well, the actor has finally opened up about that very possibility.
Speaking of Marvel, have you seen the brand new trailer for Marvel's Midnight Suns? Check it out below.
During the Lightyear press tour, Chris Evans called a return to the MCU “a tall order.” You may be wondering how it would work given that Steve Rodgers was an old man by the end of Endgame. Fans are hoping that they’ll be able to see the period in which Steve returned the Infinity Stones to their rightful homes.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Evans said, “That seems to be something people would like to see. I don’t want to disappoint anybody, but It was such a good run and I’m so happy with it … it’s so precious to me. It would have to be perfect. It would be scary to rattle something that is, again, so, so dear to me, and that role means so much to me, so to revisit it would be a tall order.”
It’s hard to think of another story Marvel could tell with Steve. We’ve practically witnessed the entirety of his life, except for the Infinity Stone task. We are now in the age of the Multiverse so we could see an alternative Steve Rodgers but the Captain America baton has been handed over to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, so it could all get a little bit samey.
To this day, Captain America: The Winter Soldier remains my favourite MCU film, but even I still think Steve’s story is over and done with.
