Call Of Duty: Vanguard is in a bit of a state right now. Sledgehammer Games' WWII shooter hasn't been anywhere close to the hit Activision had been hoping for, and things seem to be going from bad to worse.
It's no secret that Vanguard suffered Call Of Duty's worst launch in over a decade. According to reports, sales of the 2021 Call Of Duty were so poor that Activision has quietly moved up the release of Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare sequel later this year, and delayed Treyarch's 2023 instalment to 2024.
At the time of writing, those players who still haven't given up on Vanguard are begging Sledgehammer Games to address the increased connection issues that have plagued the game since the start of Season 2 earlier this month. Some players are complaining that it's gotten so bad that the game is "unplayable".

As reported by CharlieIntel, players have spotted a major difference in connection strength, making multiplayer and Ranked Play particularly painful right now.
The game's subreddit is currently filled with fans bemoaning connection issues and packet loss. As of right now, there doesn't seem to be anything players can do to resolve the issue themselves.
“I play Xbox Wired with 1 gbps connection. My son plays Xbox WiFi upstairs. My game is easily 1 Packet Burst per minute. With 1-2 second lag each time. My son occasionally gets it, few times a game at max," one user wrote.

"There is no rhyme or reason for it. Turning off texture streaming doesn’t help. There is nothing that helps. We need SHG to fix the b******t”."
The majority of comments all seem to document the same issue, revealing that the poor connection is affecting all platforms indiscriminately.
"I’ve gotten constant packet burst on this game ever since the beta and it’s made the game unplayable," another user added. "I was hoping they’d fix it by time ranked launched and that’s the only game mode I really care about! Any fix around this or am I screwed until this gets addressed (or never) Also it isn’t my connection I have around 10-20 ping on all games running PS4 and PS5."
Mitigating packet burst is on Sledgehammer’s Trello board compiling known issues with the game, so we just have to hope a fix arrives sooner rather than later.
