Borderlands 4 Releasing Even Earlier Than Planned

Dive into the madness sooner

There are just a few days to go until Borderlands 4 is released across all platforms and the hype is officially building.

However, for some lucky players, you may be able to dive into the action even sooner.

It has been six years since the latest mainline Borderlands game, Borderlands 3, was released and fans of the first-person shooter series from Gearbox Software have been eager to see the chaos continue.

Known for its distinct art style and iconic characters, the Borderlands franchise has become a classic over the years since its first instalment was released way back in 2009.

Now the wait is almost over for Borderlands 4 with the sequel expected to launch worldwide on 12 September with a Nintendo Switch 2 version dropping on 3 October.

However, it seems as though you will be able to play the game sooner if you live in the U.K and Europe according to a recent announcement by Gearbox.

According to the official launch times for Borderlands 4, the game will drop at 12:01am AEST on September 12 for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 users and 4am AEST for PC users.

This means that fans in certain regions who will be playing on PC will get the game a few hours earlier.

Here are the exact launch times:

  • London (BST) – September 11 at 5pm (PC), September 12 at midnight (console)
  • Paris (CEST) – September 11 at 6pm (PC), September 12 at midnight (console)
  • New York (ET) – September 11 at 12pm (PC), September 12 at midnight (console)
  • Los Angeles (PT) – September 11 at 9am (PC), September 12 at midnight (console)
  • Sydney (AEST) – September 12 at 2am (PC), September 12 at midnight (console)

It seems as though the hype is building for Borderlands 4 and our very own Kate Harrold called it “more bonkers than ever” in her preview.

“All of the foundational features of the series remain, with some nice additional evolutions that bring the title forward into the modern day,” she wrote.

“There are plenty of questions left to answer, whether it be the game's complete story, the much-hyped multiplayer experience or wider worldbuilding, but the signs are all distinctly positive.”

Borderlands 4 is set to release on 12 September on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving on 3 October.
