FromSoftware fans rejoice, Bloodborne could finally be making its way onto PlayStation 5 and PC, according to an industry insider.

The rumour came from the God Of War creator, David Jaffe, who reportedly heard a rumour from a reporter that the infamous Sony console exclusive, Bloodborne, will be returning in a big way to modern platforms. The official announcement is speculated to be unveiled in an upcoming PlayStation Showcase, which will supposedly drop in the coming weeks.

HUGE: Bloodborne is coming to PC and #PS5, and is set to be revealed at the next #PlayStation Showcase🚀

While there’s no concrete evidence to back up the claim, it would make sense. Bloodborne was a substantial title for the PlayStation 4, drawing in fans of FromSoftware’s more prominent series, Dark Souls. With that in mind, it’d only be right to bring back the title, upgraded and optimised for the PS5 and PC.

There’s definitely a market for its return as well. The latest “soulsborne” title, Elden Ring, did phenomenally well upon release, even winning Game of the Year, bringing more players than ever before to the genre. Combine that with the burning desire from PC players to get their hands on the game, as well as PlayStation players wanting to experience its madness above 30 FPS, and it seems like a no brainer for Sony to bring it back for a second round.

If the rumours are true, it spells out bad news for Xbox exclusive players, many of which have been wanting to try the game out for years. If it does get a re-release on PS5, it’s almost certain that it won’t be getting an Xbox Series X/S port at the same time, or ever.

Of course, you’ll need to take all of this with a big bag of salt. Until a PlayStation Showcase rolls around to confirm or disprove the rumour, we’ll be none the wiser as to what fate has in store for Bloodborne and its eldritch terrors.
