Batman: Arkham sequel has seemingly been confirmed early by accident, by someone very close to the project.
Many would fairly argue that when it comes to fantastic superhero video games, it doesn't get much better than the Batman Arkham series from Rocksteady Studios.
Luckily, the developers' last game, the critically panned Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, didnt kill the talented team for good, but hopefully, Rocksteady Studios can get back to doing what it does best.
The first game in this beloved series was Batman: Arkham Asylum, which was released in 2009, followed by Batman: Arkham City in 2011, and finally, at least for main entries, we had Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015.

Sure, we’ve a few fun spin-off titles, but the fact that it’s been a decade since a main entry in the Batman Arkham series, it’s a crime befitting of any shenanigans that take place in the ominously named “Crime Alley” in Gotham City.
Thankfully, however, if a recent slip of the tongue is believed, the agonising wait for a new Batman Arkham game could soon be over. But it might not be a sequel many of us had hoped for.
The new sequel in question is for the well-received 2024 VR game, Batman: Arkham Shadow, developed by Camouflaj, which has a respectable score of 85 on Metacritic.
As brought to our attention by Reddit user Moth_LovesLamp (via UploadVR), during an interview with CultureCombine, the actor for Commissioner Gordon, Mark Rolston, may have let slip that Batman: Arkham Shadow 2 is in development.

When asked what the difference was when voicing acting on the Blade Runner (Clovis/Transient) game of 1997 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (Norman Osborne), Rolston replied, “In the Blade Runner game, I was a voiceover, but for Spider-Man, I do complete motion capture, voice, and everything.”
“Same thing with the Batman Arkham Shadow VR game. We're about to start another one of those. I play Commissioner Gordon,” he let slip.
So, yeah, while Batman: Arkham Shadow 2 hasn't been officially confirmed by publisher Oculus Studios, this is pretty much as close to official confirmation as we’re going to get right now.
Hopefully, Warner Bros. Games will announce a traditional Batman: Arkham game sooner rather than later. We’ll have our fingers crossed.
