We’re once again setting off on an adventure in Faerûn as another free update is imminent.
What can we say about Baldur’s Gate 3 that hasn’t already been said?
The game is a sublime example of the kind of depth gamers can find when exploring the intricacies of the RPG genre.

Despite Larian Studios leaving fans heartbroken about the franchise’s future, the developers have continued to work on the award-winning title.
Oh, to be able to play Baldur's Gate 3 for the very first time...
Its latest update is said to be the final major DLC for the game.

Such news is bittersweet; although fans are overjoyed that this next update will include several new features, it’s also the beginning of the end of these expansions.
Of course, as one X user joked, there have been so-called final patches before.
“It’s final final patch... lol,” they posted.
This is true, we’ve been led to believe that the end was nigh long before now, only for more DLC to be announced.

Still, one day there will be a final update, and this could be it.
But for now, we put our melancholy aside to admire the new features coming to the game.
According to @Okami13_, crossplay is soon to be added, Xbox Series S split screen, and 12 new subclasses.
“12 new subclasses??? Holy f**k,” @MattApocaalypse remarked.

This is only the tip of the iceberg, though.
What is more, this patch is currently being stress tested, as revealed by a community update from Larian on Steam.
Much is detailed in this post, however, the key information missing is when this update will go live; all we know is it should happen “soon”.
All of this continued community support from Larian, while very much appreciated, is also setting a “new standard” in terms of quality from developers.

In some ways, Larian has spoilt us too much, for few other developers/publishers offer the same attention to detail to its fandom.
A lot of new content is soon to be added to BG3, which means it’s time to once again save the world, while also trying to romance anyone other than Astarion.
