Ubisoft's Avatar Game May Have PlayStation-Exclusive Content

Ubisoft's Avatar Game May Have PlayStation-Exclusive Content

Sony have apparently signed a marketing deal with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

It’s been many, many years since we first heard about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (well, five), but we still know very little about it. Which, y’know, seems oddly fitting for the Avatar franchise, what with the four movie sequels which have been lined up for what feels like forever now, with so little actual information revealed. At least the second film, The Way of Water, does seem to be happening for real this time (it’s currently slated for release on 16 December, six years later than expected).

We got our first look at the game at E3 last year, and last week it was reported that it’s going to be coming out before April next year (chances are, probably around the release of the movie). Now, as reported by PlayStation LifeStyle, it sounds like the PlayStation owners out there might be getting some exclusive bonuses coming their way.

This comes after Sony revealed a list of games (both current and upcoming) that they have marketing deals with, and lo and behold, one of them was with Ubisoft’s upcoming Avatar game. As PlayStation LifeStyle writes, previously, a deal like this with GTA V led to GTA Online being offered for free for PS5 owners (you can still claim that until 14 June, by the way), which makes you wonder if there’s anything like that, such as PlayStation-only DLC, being planned for Frontiers of Pandora

Equally though, it could be less to do with bonus content, and more to do with the exclusivity of the game itself. The other games listed included a few timed PS5 exclusives, like Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo, so although the new Avatar game is also coming to Xbox Series X/S, Stadia, Amazon Luna (who?), and PC, this could imply that PlayStation users might be getting their hands on it first.

Either way, it sounds like this year is going to be a good one for Avatar fans - we’ll have to stay tuned for more updates.
