This Assassin’s Creed World War I gameplay is absolutely perfect, and fans agree.

The future of the Assassin’s Creed series is up in the air at the moment. We know that the next game is Assassin’s Creed Mirage, however, with multiple reports of its being delayed with no release date announced. Depending on what reports you read, some say that Mirage will be released in June, while some say at the end of the year.

It’s fair to say that it’s somewhat of a concerning time for fans of the Brotherhood of Assassins. Sure, it’s more than likely that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will arrive at some point, but if this is a game that has suffered so many delays, can we expect it to be to the standard that fans hope? Only time will tell.

So what’s next for the series after Mirage? Well, that path is already laid with the following mainline entry taking place in Feudal Japan, a location that has been requested by fans for years.

However, one location that fans would love to see featured as a main location just so happens to be one that fans have already visited. This location is World War I and it featured in 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

World War I featured as an optional mission that could be accessed from the beginning of Sequence 6, located at the far east of the Thames River, courtesy of a memory rift. The First World War has been somewhat overshadowed by the Second World War over the years.

Taking place from 28 July 1914 to 11 November 1918, conflicts between the Allies (UK, France, Russia, Italy, USA and Japan) and the Central Empires (Germany, Austria-Hungary and Bulgaria), for control over Europe that was triggered by the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary.

The mission in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate threw the player right into the middle of that conflict in London, in which twin duo Jacob and Evie Frye, are called upon to help turn the tide of the war by Winston Churchill, who at the time was serving as the First Lord of the Admiralty before he became Prime Minister prior to the Second World War.

It was certainly a memorable moment in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and some could argue that it was the highlight of the entire game. So much so, that fans wish that Ubisoft would also bring us a game that is not only set during “The Great War”, but also takes place during the events of World War II.

In a video showcasing the WWI missions to YouTube channel Zanar Aesthetics, a thirteen-minute gameplay video gives us a taste of what we could expect should Ubisoft ever decide to pull the trigger on a game set purely during the time periods of 1914 to 1945.

“I’d love to see a full-fledged game of Assassin’s Creed during both World Wars,” said silentwolf6555. “Manifesting that Ubisoft will legit release an AC game set in WW1 & WW2,” added flirtgguk.

“Can we please do this? Origins didn't work for long, Odyssey peaked a little, but they killed their own series with Valhalla, splitting up player numbers between Odyssey and Valhalla, and then people falling off because it's just not as fun,” pleaded BengoManiff. “A Syndicate-style game set in WW1 or 2 would be MASSIVE after the last 3 AC games.”

Will Ubisoft ever give us a dedicated Assassin’s Creed game taking place during the two World Wars? I suppose at some point they could run out of time periods, so you never know.
