In a bizarre turn of events, everybody’s favourite assassin is back but it may not be in the place you would expect.

Introduced in 2009’s Assassin’s Creed II, Ezio Auditore de Firenze cemented himself as one of the greatest fictional characters of all time.

Check out the launch trailer for Assassin's Creed 2 below!

Known for his Italian charm and deadly assassin skills, Ezio remained a key figure of the Assassin’s Creed franchise across multiple entries including Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations.

Although the Ubisoft series moved on from Ezio, fans certainly did not and they have long been awaiting his return in some capacity for the past 15 years.

However, he is now back but this time, he is making a cameo in 2024’s Game of the Year.

That’s right, courtesy of a recent update, Ezio Auditore de Firenze can now be found in a brand-new Astro Bot level.

In his Bot form, he can now be discovered teetering on a small tower with the standard Assassin’s Creed hay bale awaiting underneath.

Luckily, we can give him the nudge he needs in order to perform a Leap of Faith and dive from the tower. Yes, he will just respawn in an endless cycle but it is a cool little cameo nonetheless.

The video was posted to Twitter courtesy of Radec and fans soon swarmed the comments with their thoughts on the assassin’s appearance.

“They even made sure to add his iconic fall!” one user commented.

Another said: “Alright now I can justify buying this game even though I have tons in my backlog.”

Ezio is not the only character to make an appearance in Astro Bot with the 2024 game featuring 195 cameo characters.

This includes Eve from Stellar Blade, Spider-Man, Kratos from God of War, Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima, Deacon St. John from Days Gone, Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us, and many more.

Astro Bot is continuing to receive monthly updates so if you are not up to date, you are missing out!
