Saving games or bringing them back for a new generation of players is almost always an admirable thing, as the drive for preservation becomes even more important in an age where most game purchases are digital rather than physical.
As first reported by Pure Xbox, legendary game developer and former console giants Atari have announced some major moves for their publishing label, including the purchase of five Ubisoft titles with the intention of rereleasing them on several platforms.
The games operating under new ownership are Cold Fear, Child of Eden, I Am Alive, Grow Home and Grow Up. Several of those games excluded certain platforms, with Atari planning to drop those games as broadly as possible.
In announcing the decision, Atari CEO Wade Rosen had the following to say, "Ubisoft and Atari both have a legacy of crafting worlds that players can fall in love with — games that resonate with generations of players not just for how they played, but for how they made us feel. We’re excited to reintroduce these titles while also exploring ways to expand and evolve these franchises.”

Interestingly, I Am Alive, Child of Eden and Grow Up are all still currently available for purchase on the Xbox store under the Ubisoft publisher label, but it's safe to say that those will be removed in short order before reappearing fairly soon as an Atari product.
The best picks are probably 2005's Cold Fear, a survival horror from the developer behind Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, and I Am Alive, a 2012 action-adventure developed by Ubisoft that really does an excellent job of creating an intense atmosphere in the game's post-apocalypse.
No news yet on exact release dates, though Atari will want the games live in as many places as possible quickly, to start getting their return on investment.
