ARC Raiders continues to go from strength to strength, defying the odds to become a rare live service success story.
It’s no real surprise that Embark’s hit extraction shooter picked up the prize for Best Multiplayer at the recent BAFTA Games Awards.
That win is now being followed by an exciting new era for the game.
A free new ‘remaster’ of sorts is available from today on PlayStation 5 Pro, upgrading the game’s visuals on Sony’s latest console.

That’s joined by the long-awaited Riven Tides content drop, available across all platforms.
PlayStation 5 Pro continues to deliver, with ARC Raiders now one of the available titles that supports PSSR 2, the console’s upscaling technology.
The update should reduce unintentional flickering and shimmering and improve geometry which refers, predominantly, to the flow of moving objects.
Ghosting has also been reduced which means that elements like rain will look cleaner and more accurate.
This technology is not available on base PlayStation 5 consoles, but users on that hardware will continue to benefit from TSR upscaling.
If you’re not eligible for the PlayStation 5 Pro upgrades, worry not. There’s plenty else for you to sink your teeth into in today’s Riven Tides update.
Patch notes aren’t available, but Embark has outlined precisely what we can expect from the content drop.
“Scout reports have been returning from Riven Tides. Fragments of observation logs, faded photographs, and footage of the coast have finally made their way back to Speranza,” the update’s synopsis reads.
“It’s now time for you to check it out for yourself. Explore the abandoned shoreline, traverse the Exodus port, and experience the lost luxury of the Panorama Azzurro hotel.
“This is the Rust Belt, and it’s not going to be easy. Other Raiders are already on the scent of fresh loot, and a new floating ARC machine has been seen patrolling the skies. What it’s doing, and how to counter it, is for you to find out.”
The update will introduce the titular Riven Tides map, an abandoned shoreline location, as well as a new enemy in the form of the ARC Turbine.
This large airborne enemy drifts across the Rust Belt and seems unassuming enough … until you get up close, prompting it to unleash an array of unique attacks.

Beachcombing has been added as a new map condition. Players will want to look out for the Dockmaster’s Detector, sweeping it across the sand to find hidden loot.
Devs warn that “the richest hunting grounds are out in the open”.
In terms of new items, the Crash Mat and Powered Descender should make vertical traversal easier.
There’s a new event coming too in the form of Last Resort which runs until 25 May.
Players can gain bonus XP by hunting down Ship Models, with those Models equating to merits which can be used to nab new rewards, including a Junior Outfit, Hydrologist backpack, Hose attachment, Brass Faucet charm, new emotes, and 250 Raider Tokens.
That’s not all! Players can catch birds at Riven Tides for the new Avian Alarm with this project also leading to the unlocking of new rewards, and there are new cosmetics on offer, including the Solar Set, Corsaro Sey, Rachetta Set, Castaway Set, and Sandveil Set.
The update is due out today so make sure that you’re running the latest version of ARC Raiders to dive into all of the new content listed above.
