ARC Raiders took the industry by storm last year and it continues to thrive in 2026 with a steady stream of fresh content.
There have been some casualties, of course. ARC Raiders isn’t pulling in the numbers it used to and is believed to have lost 80% of its concurrent players.
It's certainly lost a lot but it’s nowhere near a dead game, as the latest reports from SteamDB reveal it’s still pulling in nearly 100,000 players per 24-hour peak.
Compared to competing multiplayer games like Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, ARC Raiders is still happy and healthy but perhaps it can regain what it’s lost with some of the new content on the way.
Last Friday, ARC Raiders walked away from the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards for Multiplayer Game.

It was a well-deserved win and GAMINGbible caught up with Bence Pajor, Olof Strömqvist and Stefan Strandberg in the winner’s room to talk about what it meant for the team, as well as what’s next for the game.
When talking about what led to the game’s award-winning success, Stefan Strandberg said ARC Raiders was built to be a word that could be “expanded over time,” and that the team at Embark Studios has “no shortage of ideas”.
He continued: “I can tell you that in the studio back home we have plenty coming for hopefully years to come. We're pushing for giving players new and exciting moments, places to go, things to discover and moments to share.”

Last Friday’s BAFTA winners didn’t give specifics on what players can expect to see moving forward, but it sounds like the sky is the limit in terms of what could be added as the game evolves.
In one week, the game will receive its next major content update, Riven Tides, which will add a new coastal map to the game with its own environmental challenges for players to face.
Many players think they’ve already discovered the next boss enemy too, as it's been slowly teased in the sky of the current season.
Riven Tides drops on 28 April but to get players primed and ready, some more work needed to be done by Embark Studios.
This week, the PlayStation 5 version of the game was updated to address some frustrating issues related to crashing and a duplication glitch.
The update was announced by Embark earlier today, along with the digital store rotation being pushed back slightly in the build-up to the next DLC.
As always, the next expansion for ARC Raiders will be a free content update and might be just the remedy for the game’s decreased playercount.
Of course, the next question of players’ minds will most likely be, “What’s next?” If our BAFTA interview is anything to go off though, the answer is “a lot,” hopefully enough to keep the game thriving for several years to come.
