We’re experiencing a bit of a video adaptation boom right now, aren’t we? Video game adaptations don’t have the strongest history. The truth is, they’re known for being pretty average but things slowly appear to be changing as Sonic The Hedgehog 2 recently became the most successful video game movie of all time.

It follows a change in approach from within the video game industry. More games now seem to place as much importance on the narrative as the gameplay itself and it makes titles both easier and more attractive to adapt for TV and film. Adaptations of The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima and Fallout are all in the works - and now another major franchise seems set to join them.

With Alan Wake Remastered now on its way to the Nintendo Switch, remind yourself of the trailer below.

Remedy have officially announced that Alan Wake is coming to the small screen after AMC nabbed the development rights. AMC is best known for creating The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, and Breaking Bad so it’s safe to say, Alan Wake seems to be in extremely capable hands.

During an anniversary update video, Remedy creative director Sam Lake opened up about the deal saying, “We were quite a while ago talking about the Alan Wake TV show. Well, AMC, the wonderful, wonderful home for absolutely brilliant TV shows has bought the rights for Alan Wake and we have been collaborating on making a TV show happen.”

Not only is AMC home to some great series, but the network is also no stranger to adaptations. After all, The Walking Dead is adapted from a series of comic books.

It’s not the only news to break from the world of Alan Wake. We also know progress on Alan Wake II is progressing nicely, and it’s been announced that Alan Wake Remastered will soon make its way to the Nintendo Switch so there are plenty of ways to get your fix of this fictional crime author’s adventures.
