Seth Rollins is one of the most instantly recognisable faces and names of the modern pro wrestling era, and one of the most charismatic personalities in WWE.
Seth has won every major championship in WWE, including the inaugural World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE Championship, and the Intercontinental Championship, among others. Not to mention winning the 2019 Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank on two occasions.
Seth is recovering from a serious shoulder injury, forcing him to vacate his World Heavyweight Championship, now held by his arch nemesis and his faction, The Vision, turned on him. With WrestleMania season now in full swing, will Seth be fit in time for the greatest stage of them all? We spoke to the popular WWE Superstar to find out.
Seth Betrayed is Forced to Vacate His World Championship
Seth is currently recovering from a rotator cuff injury after facing Cody Rhodes for the Men’s Crown Jewel Champion at Perth, Australia, on 11 October 2025. He was forced to vacate his World Heavyweight Championship on Monday Night Raw on 20 October 2025.

On the night Seth was forced to vacate his World Heavyweight Championship, his own faction, The Vision, consisting of “The Oracle” Paul Heyman, “Badass” Bron Breakker and the “Tribal Thief” Bronson Reed, brutally attacked Seth and exiled him from the group.
“They did what they did, they made their decision, they made their bed, they're gonna have to lie in it. They didn't put me down and take me out forever, just for a little while. I keep receipts, let's just say that,” Seth warns The Vision.
Seth’s arch nemesis, CM Punk, holds the title he was forced to vacate after the “Voice of the Voiceless” defeated Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on 1 November 2025.
CM Punk Is the Cover Star of WWE 2K26

On the main cover of WWE 2K26 is CM Punk, as already established, an arch-nemesis of Seth. This is the second time that CM Punk has been a cover star. However, the last time was with WWE ‘13 before the license was acquired by 2K and developed by Visual Concepts. On that note, Seth has already been a cover star for 2K with WWE 2K18.
“I never feel like CM Punk is the right choice to be the representative of anything that has to do with this business and this company. But it's not my decision, it’s not my sandbox, and these aren't my toys. I don't get to make those calls, but it is what it is. If they think they can sell video games with CM Punk on the cover? Go for it,” exclaims Seth.
On Monday Night Raw, 20 October 2025, Becky Lynch, aka “The Man”, multiple World Champion and Royal Rumble winner, confronted “The Oracle” Paul Hayman with a scathing warning after her husband was attacked by The Vision.
You name it, she’s pretty much done it all. Oh, and she’s the greatest WWE women’s wrestler of all time. It’s not Becky that says it, Sports Illustrated says it. So if you ever get a threat from Becky, you'd better take it very seriously.

On the Road to Recovery and Maybe WrestleMania?

“It’s going well. I’ve got a few more months left in the tank, but, you know, it's going as smoothly as it can, so Christmas was good, New Year's was good, and I'm looking forward to continuing to rehab and make my way back to the WWE.”
Before Seth suffered the genuine injury that he’s currently recovering from, during Saturday Night's Main Event on 12 July 2025, he faked a knee injury against LA Knight, which became one of the most entertaining storylines of that year.
This led to yet another epic Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam ‘Night One’ on 1 August 2025 against CM Punk, after he had defeated Gunther in a gruelling match. This was a cash-in dubbed “Ruse of the Century” on play on words inspired by his other Money in the Bank cash-in at WrestleMania 31 in 2015.
Despite his current injury being 100% genuine, surely there were some doubts following the “Ruse of the Century”, right?
“I haven't been around all that much, really, to see how the fans have responded to my current injury online, to be fair. I guess I got a little ‘boy who cried wolf’ situation going on,” Seth explains.
“So, I’ve kinda done that to myself. So people might not sympathise with me as much, that’s understandable. I respect that, and I get it. But fans whom I’ve met in person, they’ve been wishing me well, hoping that I can rehab and get back in the ring soon.”
Intergender Matches Return in WWE 2K26

Intergender matches are nothing new in the world of WWE, but last year, this match type made its long-awaited return in WWE 2K25, and it’s back in this year's entry. While Seth and Becky failed at the first hurdle in a match against CM Punk and his wife, AJ Lee (I’m sure they’ll run that back), there is another couple in WWE that could fall in the crosshairs of Seth and Becky.
Bron Breakker, son of Rick Steiner and nephew of Scott Steiner, both Hall of Famers, also has a partner in WWE. Newly crowned NXT North American Champion, Izzi Dame.
“That sounds like a little warm-up match, to be honest. I don't even know what Izzi Dame brings to the table compared to the greatest female wrestler of all time, ‘The Man’, Becky Lynch,” declares Seth.
“Bron Breakker is fine when he's got a spear coming my way that I'm not expecting. But we've seen what happens when I get in the ring with Bron Breakker, when I am expecting what he throws at me. So, as I said, I think that'd be more like a warm-up than anything, but sure, if they want to get in the ring with the two of us, you know, we could figure that out.”
What if Seth Rollins Had a Showcase Mode?
One of my favourite modes in the WWE 2K series is the ‘Showcase’, a campaign that not only lets us replay some of the greatest moments in WWE history but also change the course of history and even have some dream matches that never were.
Sadly, when Seth was the cover star of WWE 2K18, there was no ‘Showcase’ mode, but if he were to have his own campaign in a future WWE 2K entry, what would he pick as his favourite and dream matches?
“Gosh, one major match that stands out is the Triple Threat last year at WrestleMania 41 (night one) in the main event in Las Vegas, between me, Roman Reigns and CM Punk. That’s a generational matchup.

“Then I’d say our six-man tag match as the Shield vs. The Wyatt Family at the Elimination Chamber in 2014, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Those are two matches from my career that really stand out for me,” Seth recalls. “As for dream matches, I’d love to have wrestled 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels. He’s my favourite performer ever. I think we would have had a lot of fun if we had the opportunity to step into the ring together.
“Then I would have loved to have a TLC match with Jeff Hardy of The Hardy Boys. He was very influential in my career as a teenager. His style was something that I really resonated with during that time, and I was pretty enamoured by the TLC matches that he and his brother (Matt Hardy) had with the Edge and Christian, and the Dudley Boyz.”
As a bonus, with WWE 2K26’s intergender matches in mind, Seth had one more dream match. “I’d also love for me and Becky to fight HHH and his wife, Stephanie McMahon. The two greatest wrestling couples of all time, fighting for control over the WWE.”
What Has Given Seth the Most Joy in Life?
“That’s easy, it’s my daughter. Watching her grow up and become a little human. She’s five years old now, and she’s in pre-school. She’s got friends, opinions and favourite things. Waking up every day to be her dad is the best thing I could ever do, and I imagine it’ll stay that way for quite some time.
WWE 2K26 will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 on Friday, 13 March for the standard edition (CM Punk cover), or Friday, 6 March for the King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition and the Monday Night Wars Edition.
