If you’re yet to familiarise yourself with what Rebel Moon is, allow me to enlighten you. Rebel Moon is an upcoming sci-fi epic inspired by both the works of Akira Kurosawa and George Lucas’ Star Wars films that’ll be written, directed and produced by Zack Snyder.
Rebel Moon is being split into two parts with the first set to debut on Netflix later this year on 22 December 2023. The synopsis reads, “A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. The desperate civilians dispatch Kora, a young woman who has a mysterious past to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them challenge the regent.” Intriguing. Kora will be portrayed by Sofia Boutella while Ed Skrein will star as Balisarius. If this sounds up your alley, we’ve already had our first look at the project and now, it sounds as if a game adaptation may be on the way too.

Zack Snyder was recently interviewed by The Nerd Queens where he was asked about the possibility of a Rebel Moon game. “We’re doing a graphic novel for Rebel Moon and I think we’re going to do an animated short,” he began. “We’re going to do a bunch of other things that are just insane. It’s all in the works. [...] The one thing that I’m having a really good time with, and I don’t even know if I’m supposed to talk about it, is this RPG that we’re doing which is just literally insane.”

“It’s so immersive and so intense,” he continued. “It’s so huge. We talked about how we would do the game and I just said ‘Let’s go.’ There’s more coming, but all I’m saying is it was pitched to me - and I’ve always wanted to do a game - and they said you could do it at this scale or you could do it at a ridiculous scale, so I was like well clearly, ridiculous scale is the way we’re doing it.”
“They were like, well, it’s going to take so much time because we’ve got to do all these brain dumps. You’ve got to tell us everything that is happening in this universe, but I was like fine, I’ll tell you.” Snyder added, “It’s a fully-realised Rebel Moon universe, but I’m not supposed to talk about it.” We appreciate you talking about it anyway though Zack.
