A YouTuber has been arrested after throwing buckets of poo at unsuspecting train passengers, along with other “diverse substances”.

Yes, you read that correctly. We’re all familiar with the unsettling lengths some people will go to in order to go viral and yet, I still find myself shaking my head in shock and dismay. This particular incident took place in Belgium and involved a YouTuber by the name of YaNike. At the time of writing, he has just 291 subscribers - and it appears as if he’s been posting these ‘bucket throwing’ videos for at least five months.

There’s hardly ever a quiet moment in the streaming and content creation world.

As reported by Dexerto, Belgian police have now arrested the YouTuber who is believed to have thrown several “diverse substances” at metro passengers, including “paint, feces [and] food”. On YouTube, you can view YaNike filling up the buckets with beer, oil, water, and in one case, dog poo, before hopping on a public train, picking a poor passenger, and emptying the bucket on their head before making a swift exit.

I don’t need to tell you that this is frankly appalling behaviour, posing a clear health risk to his victims. A report from Politico claims that YaNike was finally arrested for his ‘pranks’ on 2 January, charged with assault and battery.

A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office, Yasmina Vanoverschelde, released a statement: “Videos of these events were posted on social networks, with the aim of getting as many ‘likes’ as possible.” Complaints have been filed against YaNike both by his victims and by transport company Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company (STIB). The earliest known complaint was filed in November by a victim who had a mixture of dog faces and oil poured on them.
