Xbox users are livid that what should be a basic console feature is locked behind a mobile app for some reason.

A massive perk of the current digital age is the ease of access. Whether it’s purchasing new games, streaming games, watching movies or simply trying to find the content we enjoy with ease. So when a basic feature isn't available to everyone, it can understandably scratch the heads of many.

One such basic feature relates to the Xbox console when it comes to searching for wishlisted games on the digital marketplace. In particular, being able to sort what’s on sale, along with sorting the highest and lowest prices, and so forth.

The basic feature of being able to filter what’s on sale is available on other digital stores such as Steam and the PlayStation Store via PC, consoles and mobile apps. However, that feature is not available on Xbox consoles, for whatever reason.

This Basic Xbox Feature Is Only Available via an App

“You can see your wishlisted games on the Xbox app. Use filters and sort by ‘On Sale’,” tweeted Idle Sloth. “We need this feature on the console.”

It would only be natural to assume that you can select to instantly see what’s on sale via the Xbox Marketplace on your console, but apparently not. At the time of writing, it’s only possible to do so on the official Xbox mobile app.

Xbox Gamers Have Their Say

“Yeah, this was a great new feature, sort by price and filter to sale. Hopefully it comes to console as well,” replied Escaflowne2001.

“The wishlist part has been on the app for a while now. But definitely need this on console,” said MosesAteDirt.

“Wishlist is too limited tho. I have to delete stuff before adding new games almost every time, and titles don't go out of the list if bought,” added mr_eleganto.

“We can see just what's on sale on our wishlist on console most of the time (Store > Deals > press X when looking at Wish list deals category), but that category isn't always there, adding these changes would be fantastic,” explained chyld989.

Hopefully, this will be a simple fix for the folks at Microsoft, and we might not have to wait long to be able to sort games on sale from our wishlist. Fingers crossed!
