‘Uncharted’ Is Coming To Streaming Next Month

Tom Holland's take on Nathan Drake will officially be making its streaming debut in July.

Video game adaptations have a reputation for being notoriously bad, and Uncharted didn’t exactly do a lot to change that. Tom Holland’s take on Nathan Drake hit cinemas four months ago, receiving a less-than-savoury response. In our review, we wrote that Uncharted was “funny, action-packed, and full of surprises,” but many critics slated the film for its soulless and joyless take on one of gaming’s most beloved franchises.

They have a point. As an adaptation, Uncharted just simply failed to capture the energy of the games but as a standalone film, hey. It’s not that bad and general audiences seemed to agree as Uncharted raked in a ton of money. So much so that Sony is moving ahead with sequels. If you haven’t yet seen the film, I have some good news. Uncharted is finally coming to streaming in July.

See Tom Holland in action below as Nathan Drake before Uncharted lands on Netflix next month.

Uncharted will officially make its streaming debut on Netflix on 15 July, which is less than a month away. For now, it’s only been confirmed that this applies to Netflix users in the United States which isn’t ideal news for the rest of us.

That being said, Netflix and Sony have a long history of deals when it comes to streaming so we can assume that Uncharted’s streaming debut will be confirmed in other territories soon.

Several other Sony titles will be joining Tom Holland’s flick on the streaming service, as Morbius and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 will also be landing on Netflix. Morbius has just wrapped up its second theatrical run (which was a disaster), following on from its first theatrical run (which was also a disaster). Knowing what I know about Morbius fans though, I have a feeling those meme-ers will be sending the film straight to Netflix’s number one spot. All in all, a nice few weeks of viewing are on the horizon.
