Star Wars fans horrified to learn Yoda didn't die the way we thought he did

Just why did Yoda shuffle off?

Many have wondered why Yoda died the way he did in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, confounding many fans ever since the film debuted.

It has been debated across social media and message boards time and again as a weird plot point in Star Wars' canon.

GAMINGbible had the pleasure of talking to Jude Law about Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

One user on Reddit posed the question, “Why did Yoda suddenly up and die after 900 years?”

Further explaining their question, they said, “I mean he'd been taking it easy for the last 20 years anyway so it's not like there was a lot of stress in his life. Yet off he pops soon as Luke shows back up.”

Yeah, it’s a tough one. Bro was just chilling, living a good life in a swamp, meditating, probably trying to forget that all his friends were murdered in a coup.

Then Luke shows up and demands to be shown the ways of The Force.

The sole reply to the question comes from another user who said, “Yeah, there wasn't much stress until some brat showed up, lugging him around the swamp and disobeying him at every turn.”

Right? Luke rocks up and disturbs Yoda when the little dude escaped all that drama long ago.

The reply goes on to say, “Couple that with having to lift an X-wing out of a lake and being 900 fricken years old, and you've got one dead Jedi Master.”

Does this mean ... Luke killed Yoda? I wish you could see the shock horror on my face.

Of all the Star Wars plot holes, if you can call Yoda’s death a plot hole, this is the one I wish would get addressed.

I heard one theory long ago that said Yoda escaped and stayed alive because The Force willed him to keep going until he met Luke and could guide him.

It makes sense. I guess once you’ve fulfilled that purpose, you can finally check out for good and get some rest.
