A popular Star Wars character is seemingly returning and fans of the galaxy, far, far away are hyped, and so are we.

Created by George Lucas, one of the main reasons that the Star Wars franchise remains just as popular today as when the first movie arrived in 1977 is not only due to its well-told stories, its science fantasy universe and epic battles between good vs evil, but also a variety of beloved characters.

Whatever you may think of the Star Wars movie franchise post-2015’s The Force Awakens (a movie I loved by the way), few fans can deny that they did not provide at least one character that they grew attached to or at least, I like to think so.

One such character is Poe Dameron, a talented and courageous X-Wing pilot for the Resistance, played by the fantastic Oscar Isaac. We’ve not seen Poe Dameron since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker but as reported by IGN, the popular character may be returning soon.

Shared on the Star Wars Celebration social media pages, Oscar Isaac has been confirmed to be attending the event which is taking place in Tokyo, Japan between 18 April and 20 April 2025.

Sure, Oscar Isaac will be at the event to have photos and sign autographs with fans but many are also wondering whether he might be attending to announce a new Star Wars movie.

The reason is, as IGN states in the article, Rey actress Daisy Ridley attended Star Wars Celebration 2023 and announced that a new movie is in the works. So could Oscar Isaac be doing the same or will he be joining Daisy Ridley in the already-announced production?

Thankfully, we only have a few months to wait to see if Oscar Isaac’s appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2025 is more than just meeting fans. Only time will tell and we’ll keep you posted if any exciting news should drop from the event.

While we wait, you can catch up with all the Star Wars movies on Disney Plus.
