Everyone’s favourite third Star Wars film, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, is returning to cinemas this year to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary - but you better start booking those tickets now if you want to be in with a chance to see it on the big screen.

As officially revealed by Disney on the Star Wars website, Episode III will be hitting cinemas (again) on 25 April this year in both U.S. and international territories “for one week only”.

They also revealed that select 4DX cinemas will be screening the film that have “high-tech motion chairs that sync with over 21 effects, all designed to complement the narrative of the film”. Assumedly the heated seats will kick in once Anakin hits the lava.

Unsurprisingly, everyone over on the r/movies subreddit is extremely excited to have another opportunity to watch this one at the cinema.

ICYMI: Andor returns in April.

“I know people like to clown on these movies, but I will never forget seeing this as a kid on the big screen,” commented user Screamin_Toast. “Always will have a special place in my heart.”

“I unironically love this one. Beautiful examination of how fascism creeps over you, as well as a kickass film with some of the best stunt work of the 2000s,” replied user KingMario05.

“Who cares if Hayden flubs a line or two. The rest of his performance is so f**king good. Definitely gonna be getting a ticket.”

I kind of wonder if the meme status of the prequel trilogy is also going to attract a bit of a younger crowd than you might expect as well.

I suppose it’s not out of the realm of possibility that a lot of people in attendance will actually be younger than the film itself… man even just typing that made my back hurt.
