Star Warsâ quality is, well, inconsistent.
Episode IV - The Rise of Skywalker is widely considered pretty abysmal, whilst Disney Plus series The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi didnât garner all that much praise either.
But then you have top-tier projects in the way of Andor, Skeleton Crew and, of course, the franchiseâs original trilogy.

Sure, the Ewoks are annoying, but thereâs little you can really fault about that original trilogy.
Oh, besides Chewbacca not being awarded a medal; that upsets me.
The story largely hits all the right beats across all three films.
That hasnât stopped fans though from dreaming up an alternate ending, albeit one that pales in comparison to the original.

âWhat if Vader was saved on Endor?â asked Reddit user cr1spy_biscuit.
Well, it would take away all sense of conclusion, thatâs for sure.
âJust one more thing Mr Vader,â The8thDoctor joked, â23 years ago, there was a classroom of kids dismembered. You wouldnât happen to know anything about that?â
âFirst stop: war crimes tribunal,â added Nimrod48.

âHe probably would have been sentenced to death for his war crimes,â added Pr0sthetics and theyâre probably right, as the First Order took some time to rise.
âHan asking Vader to have permission to marry Leia would be hilarious,â commented ctcourt, with KingOfAzmerloth adding, âHe'd be jailed for lifetime. Redemption or not, he committed so many atrocities it's just too much even for fantasy universe to just be shrugged off.â
Would it have been good to see real justice served? I suppose so, but I also think Return of the Jedi would have suffered if time was added on to see Vader jailed or trialled for his crimes.
A death may be seen as a lesser sentence by some, but within the context of this film, it certainly aided the filmâs pacing.

I wouldnât have changed a thing.
