So whether that is a brand-new story set in the galactic universe or a continuation of a much-loved entry, there is plenty to look forward to over the next few years.

That includes the announcement of a brand new Star Wars project that takes place before the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.

Announced during the Lucasfilm Publishing: Star Wars: Stories From a Galaxy Far, Far Away Panel at last week’s New York Comic-Con, it has been revealed that a brand-new comic book series is coming this March.

Titled Star Wars: Jedi Knights, it will act as a prequel to Phantom Menace and feature some much-loved characters such as Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Count Dooku, Mace Windu, and more.

Not only that but it will serve as an introduction to a whole new cast of characters who made up the Jedi Order during the time of peace.

It will be written by Emmy Award-winning screenwriter and veteran Star Wars comics writer Marc Guggenheim and he will be joined by artist Madibek Musabekov.

"Marc and Madibek deliver a blockbuster first issue with a cliffhanger that kicks off one action-packed issue after another featuring your favorite knights," Editor Mark Paniccia revealed.

"You’ve literally never seen so much lightsaber action in a comic book!"

Each volume will follow the story of a Jedi Knight pair as they team up on various missions across the galaxy.

However, with a mysterious villain lurking in the shadows, how will our galactic heroes protect their own?

Star Wars: Jedi Knights #1 goes on sale in March 2025.
