Not to sound like petulant child, but we’re not happy about this latest Star Wars development.

Every fandom has its share of highs and lows – it goes with the territory.

Still, that doesn’t make those lows any easier to deal with once they arrive.

The Acolyte season two update that we’ve been waiting for arrived earlier this week, and with it, hopes were crushed.

We’d thought the Disney Plus series safe, given how it broke streaming records, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

Naturally, Star Wars fans are mourning the loss.

Even if they didn’t like some elements of the plot, fans agree that they’re tired of learning of revived characters’ true fates.

The truth being that they returned for sweet f all.

Lucasfilm brought Darth Maul back in Solo, only to leave us hanging for more.

As if that wasn’t insulting enough, The Acolyte shocked us with that big Plagueis reveal then snatched this exciting plotline away from us.

In short, fans are sick of this and would like Disney to get its act together.

“Lucasfilm is better at keeping the Sith extinct than the Jedi ever were,” posted one user on Twitter.

“Disney needs to stop listening to the annoying ‘fanboys’,” argued another, “it ruined The Rise of Skywalker, Solo, and The Acolyte.”

There’s always a chance that these characters will be picked up again via other mediums, such as in comics, however, there’s no guarantee.

Sadly, there are even more horrors to discuss in the Star Wars franchise, as fans are just learning that Yoda didn’t die of old age, he was murdered.

And then, as if that wasn’t already a big enough shock to deal with, they’ve discovered how old Darth Vader was when he died.

All in all, this is shaping up to be a tough week for Star Wars fans.
