Star Wars fans obsessed with new sequel teaser: 'beyond amazing'

There are many different Star Wars projects waiting in the wings, having been announced over the past year.

The latest, which is apparently shooting next, will be Shawn Levy’s standalone Star Wars film starring Ryan Gosling, set five or six years after Episode Nine.

Will Finn and Rey appear in this new Star Wars project?

Coming via Deadline, the information on the upcoming project is very exciting.

This will be a standalone film, not part of any ongoing story, with Ryan Gosling as the lead star.

It’s rumoured that some characters from the modern sequel trilogy could return, perhaps as cameos, and fans over on Twitter are getting the hype train rolling.

“Man, this has got to be the most excited and hopeful I’ve been for any Star Wars movie. I love levy, I love gosling, but the fiction needs something new,” says one fan.

Pulling Gosling into the galaxy far, far away, would be a major move, and bring a vast amount of charisma to the project.

As one fan notes, “A standalone Star Wars film with Ryan Gosling sounds like a dream.”

The excitement is palpable, as another fan exclaims, “Can’t wait. Ryan Gosling is the best male actor of my lifetime. From Remember the Titans to Blade Runner. Everything he touches turns to gold. Star Wars has been so incredibly good lately, this is just going to be so beyond amazing. Can’t wait for this.”

Sadly, we don’t know much more than the most basic of details, but this year’s Star Wars celebration in Japan could reveal more.

The event takes place in April, over Easter weekend, and could be the perfect stage to show more details.

My hope is Gosling is chanelling his character from Drive, and it seems I’m not the only one thinking this, as someone says, “Drive, but in the post-Skywalker era. I’m on board.”
