Star Wars quietly confirms what happened to Coruscant in Sequel Trilogy

Gone to the dogs

Wondering what happened to Coruscant after the original trilogy? The once bustling centre of the galaxy we visited numerous times fell and was abandoned, but how would it have appeared?

According to Star Wars concept art for the sequel trilogy, specifically Rise of Skywalker, there would have been a shot of Kylo Ren visiting the planet and it looked very different.

Have you been watching the Star Wars TV shows like The Bad Batch?

This appeared on Reddit and showed that the planet was completely abandoned and had been taken over by giant wolves.

It gives a new meaning to somewhere going to the dogs, eh?

The image shown is very brooding and bleak, something that would have been interesting to explore, but of course, it was never used.

Fans in the Reddit thread had plenty to say, with most exclaiming that Coruscant would never have been fully abandoned as it was chock full of people from across the galaxy.

The top comment shows that it was a far-fetched idea, “So the most populated world used as the centre of the galaxy was completely abandoned and replaced by monster wolves within like…10 years? Wild.”

There’s no doubting the concept looks great, but as this user says, “Although an abandoned Coruscant sounds nonsense, this concept art is dope. Hell, almost everything they didn’t do sounds MUCH BETTER than what they’ve done in the movies.”

They’re right. That film is such a weak link in the chain that maybe this would have actually worked out well.

There’s an idea among the comments, from mindpainters, that would have worked nicely: “It could just be run by gangs and syndicates now due to the collapse but no chance it’s all abandoned.”

Oh well, no matter how silly the idea was, it might have elevated a truly terrible Star Wars film and given us some decent characters. Too late now.
