Star Wars Urged to Bring Back Sequel Duo, Actors Want Return

Lets make it happen Disney

There’s no way to talk about the Star Wars sequel trilogies without mentioning how divisive they were with the existing fan base, as well as how the story and the characters within it were handled.

That said, there were plenty of things to like and story threads that fans have been keen to see explored further, ever since the sequel trilogy concluded with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

To be fair to Disney in this instance, it does seem like at least some of them are on their radar, even if we aren't ever going to get to see The Hunt for Ben Solo, the cancelled spin-off featuring Adam Driver's character after the events of the final trilogy film.

Now, some of the actors are even weighing in and there are two in particular than fans are desperate to see again in some capacity.

John Boyega Speaks on Potential Star Wars Return

Two of the most memorable and likeable characters in the sequel trilogy were John Boyega's former Stormtrooper turncoat Finn and ace pilot Poe Dameron, played by the always excellent Oscar Isaac.

Both characters made it through to the end of the trilogy and many fans are very keen to see both of them return to the franchise, ideally on the big screen once again.

As first posted by DiscussingFilm on Twitter/X, John Boyega himself recently commented on a potential appearance at Liverpool Comic-Con.

And it is pretty good news all around, with the actor very open to it, as long as it's a movie.

"Me and Oscar are very stubborn and we believe the bromance should only be on the big screen,” he said.

That absolutely leaves the door open for another potential collaboration, even if it would require a big commitment on Disney's part.

"The company has certainly made a marked move towards favouring Star Wars TV series over films, even if those series can and do run up equally large budgets."

Fans in the responses were also very excited at the prospect of a Boyega and Isaac return, with one saying, "I just really want to see them in Star Wars again."

"Honestly, Finn & Poe deserved way more, If they bring that energy back to the screen, I’m all in," another added.

Whatever does end up happening with the characters, Star Wars is just as popular as ever, so we would hope it won't be too long before another movie in the franchise is on the immediate horizon.
