Star Wars episodes 10-12 teaser roasted by fans: ‘I have bad feelings’

I've got a bad feeling about this

Rumours of casting are swirling for the upcoming Star Wars films that will act as standalone projects in the galaxy far, far away.

However, this isn’t the only rumour currently doing the rounds, as a Star Wars insider has claimed that a new trilogy is currently being written at Lucasfilm and Disney.

The rumour appeared on Deadline, and states that the creator of Star Wars Rebels, Simon Kinsberg, is hard at work on writing the upcoming trilogy.

Now, admittedly, this contract was signed with Disney last year, and no news has since emerged on what Kinsberg is working on, but it still has fans a little worried.

When the news broke on Reddit, there was a mixed reaction, with most looking to Kinsberg’s previous work and feeling concerned that his trilogy would be a flop.

“From the guy that brought us Dark Phoenix? Sorry, I have bad feelings,” said Kormaciek.

“They looked at the decline in interest of the IP and decided to throw the guy who wrote Dark Phoenix, Apocalypse, Fant4stic, and X3 at it???” queried another Redditor.

It’s unlikely he’d be the only writer on the project, and if the heads of Lucasfilm, which are due to change soon, have a hand in it, the project could be a winner.

There’s plenty of lore to dig into, so as long as we get something fresh, fans could be pleasantly surprised.

There are some who think this trilogy won’t even make it out of the writer’s room, with one saying, “Another announced sequel/trilogy/etc that will never be produced.”

“I just hope that they plan out the entire trilogy before they start filming this time. The patch work and over reacting is what killed the last trilogy,” commented wdm81.

The future could be bright for the series, but it seems fans will want to see some proof before they buy any more cinema tickets.
